Will Next-Gen Games Cost More?

UPDATE: The PC version will remain at $59.99 US / CA$79.99 for the base version.

In the United States, major video games generally cost $59.99 or $79.99 in Canada. That may be changing for next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Take-Two Interactive have announced that NBA 2K21 will cost more on PS5 and Xbox One. Gamers will have to pay $69.99 US for its new title; this likely means other big titles will follow suit. In Canada, it is possible that games could costs as much as $94.99, unless publishers are willing to take a loss in the Canadian market and price games at $89.99.

For those wanting the game at $59.99, gamers will want to get game on current generation consoles. Additionally, it is not yet clear what the game will cost on PC or Nintendo Switch if there will even be a port on Switch.

Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog is Getting a Sequel

Paramount Pictures and SEGA have announced that there will be another Sonic the Hedgehog film. Not much is know yet but a bit of the staff will be working on the second one. There obviously is no release date at this time and probably won’t be for quite a while.

As for the 2020 film, it is already available on digital download, Blu-ray, and DVD. The movie was praised by many. COVID-19 likely caused the movie to release sooner since theatres were shut down.

What do you want Paramount to do different with Sonic 2 (that’s what I am calling it)? Let me know in the comments.
