Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog is Getting a Sequel

Paramount Pictures and SEGA have announced that there will be another Sonic the Hedgehog film. Not much is know yet but a bit of the staff will be working on the second one. There obviously is no release date at this time and probably won’t be for quite a while.

As for the 2020 film, it is already available on digital download, Blu-ray, and DVD. The movie was praised by many. COVID-19 likely caused the movie to release sooner since theatres were shut down.

What do you want Paramount to do different with Sonic 2 (that’s what I am calling it)? Let me know in the comments.

A Brand New Silent Hill May Be Coming to the PlayStation 5

Rumours have been going around that Silent Hill or Silent Hills are being remade and that Sony Interactive Entertainment was involved or even Xbox Games Studios for that matter. That does not seem to be the case for Microsoft or Xbox Games Studios and neither company is outright buying the IP.

Do take this with a heavy grain of salt as this may not end up being true. SIE Japan Studios is reportely working on a reboot of Silent Hill and is also in a playable state. It could even be revealed when Sony shows off more information on the PlayStation 5 and its upcoming games.

In other news, Hideo Kojima nor Kojima Productions are working on this game. The previous rumour was false. Also, don’t expect Microsoft or the Xbox brand to have any affiliation on the project; though, that would have been great for Microsoft especially in Japan.

Even with COVID-19, the PlayStation 5 is being planned on releasing holiday of this year. For more info on this story, check out GameRant and @AestheticGamer1 on Twitter.

Mat Piscatella is a market researcher at the NPD Group. He tracks sales records for video game hardware and software. This will cover the best selling video game console and the top selling titles for the United States.

April 2020 sales report came out late this month. It shows that the Nintendo Switch was again the best selling platform in the US. Additionally, dollar sales have reached 160%, which is more than April of last year, 2019.

Nintendo Switch

Animal Crossing: New Horizons released back in March for the Nintendo Switch and was the best selling game on the console. This is followed by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Just Dance 2020 from Ubisoft. Furthermore in their respected order, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from Sora and BANDAI Namco, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Pokémon Sword, Square Enix/s Trials of Mana, and last up, Super Mario Party had all made it on the top 10 selling Switch titles.

Xbox ONE

Next up is Microsoft’s Xbox ONE; the 2019 remake of Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: Remastered, and Take-Two Interactive’s and Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V made the top 3. Numerous other games also made the list. This includes titles such as Take-Two Interactive’s NBA 2K20, Capcom’s Resident Evil 3, Madden NFL 20 from EA Sports, Red Dead Redemption II, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Star Wars: Jedi: Fallen Order, and FIFA 20.

PlayStation 4

The last top 10 will cover best selling games on the Sony PlayStation 4. The first three include Final Fantasy VII: Remake from Square Enix, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Take-Two’s NBA 2K20. These games are followed by Grand Theft Auto V from Rockstar Games and Take-Two again, SIE Worldwide Studio’s MLB: The Show 20, Capcom’s Resident Evil 3, Predator: Hunting Grounds; EA’s Madden NFL 20, Atlus’ and SEGA’s Persona 5: Royal, and finally from Microsoft, Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition.
