For the month of September, the Nintendo Switch was the best selling console in North America for unit sales. That is according to Mat Piscatella from the NPD Group. This makes the Switch the best selling console for ten months in a row since December late last year.
Next, there are the top ten best selling games for the same region released by The NPD Group. The first two games are NBA 2K20 and Borderlands 3. In third place, FIFA 20 made it on the list. The following game was The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, while Madden NFL 20 made it next on the list.. Then, the following games made it on the list in their respective order; Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, Gears 5, Code Vein, NHL 20, and Mario Kart 8.
That is all for the month of September. Come back next month to hear about sales data from The NPD Group from October.

Best Selling Console
The NPD Group has released sales numbers for the gaming industry sales a few days early this time for July. It looks like the Nintendo Switch was the best selling console last month.
Keep in mind that this list is for physical sales. Half of the games on this list were either published or developed by Nintendo. However, Electronic Arts’s Madden NFL 20 topped the list As for Nintendo, Fire Emblem: Three Houses came in second place with Super Mario Maker 2 in third. Other games that made the list were Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, Minecraft from Mojang and Microsoft, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Grand Theft Auto V from RockStar Games, a game from Warner Bros. Interactive being Mortal Kombat 11, Mario Kart 8 (Deluxe for Switch), and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in tenth place.
In terms of sales, it looks like this was a good month for Nintendo in North America. Five of the ten best selling video games last month were published by Nintendo. Come back in next month to check out the sales for August.
The website for the Entertainment Software Rating Board (better known as the ESRB) has an all new layout. Things are much more organized on there now. One thing that was just discovered was the absence of the listing of EC for Early childhood rating. Well, it turns out I was able to get in contact with @ESRB via Twitter and they confirmed that that rating has been dropped.

Nintendo announced that a new version of the Switch will be releasing later this year. There was a six minute YouTube video about the Nintendo Switch Lite. Nintendo Switch Lite will be a little different than the base Switch. For example, the Joy-Cons cannot be taken out from the system. There also will not be HD Rumble or a camera on the right side where it would be on the Joy-Con. However, there will be a D-pad.
Since the Switch Lite is designed to be more of a portable console, it will only be able to play in handheld mode. Docking will not be an option but that will not be a problem for everyone, though.
Nintendo Switch Lite will be releasing 20 September for $199.99 USD / $259.99 CAD. It will be cheaper than the base Switch. There will also be three colours. The choice of colours right now ar yellow, grey, and turquoise.
Which colour will you be getting of the Switch Lite? Will you be getting one or hold out until the Switch PRO or Switch 2? Let everyone know in the comments.

Nintendo Switch Lite
Nintendo may very well be the best selling platform holder for the rest of 2019 in the US and Canada if trends continue, especially when the Switch Lite launches in September. Another reason Nintendo Switch may be the best selling console this year is due to the upcoming game. There is Wolfenstein: Youngblood, DOOM Eternal, Luigi’s Mansion 3, upcoming DLC for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, handful of indie games, Pokémon Sword, Pokémon Shield, and various popular titles.
