Earlier today, Nintendo held an investor’s meeting in Japan for 2018 FY Q2. They discussed both hardware and software sales for the Nintendo Switch. While Nintendo may not reach their additional 20 million mark, Switch still has done fairly well this quarter.
It was announced that the company has now sold 22.86 million Switch consoles which also just outsold the GameCube. Another thing, software sales have surpassed lifetime software sales for Wii U. Switch software sales are now at 111.10 million.
2018 may not have been as good as 2017 for Nintendo. However, 2019 may prove to be a brighter year with releases such as as New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Yoshi’s Craft Island, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Travis Touchdown Strikes Again: No More Heroes, and possibly Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4. Time will tell.
